If you think Brazil is just Carnival and wild parties, think again. There’s also a lot of beauty and, strange as it might seem, tranquillity. Especially in the state of Alagoas, on the northeastern coast, a lesser-known spot with few tourists and yet  trimmed with golden beaches and washed by a blustering sea.

Surrounded by such a landscape, Kenoa is an eco resort built out of rustic woods and stonework and far from everything – the only visible signs of civilization being the distant lights from the small city of Maceió.

In spite of the simple and natural materials, the suites and villas have a very contemporary look, complemented with indigenous works of art adding a touch of local flavour. But the most fascinating detail is probably the natural scent of the gorgeous cedarwood tubs.

Kenoa also has a good creative Brazilian cuisine restaurant and, above all, one of the best spas in Brazil – does Shiseido ring a bell? Not to mention the bar, the lounge, the terrace, the pool and beach club, the fitness center, the music and book library… In other words, not a chance to get bored.
