A terrace on the lake
A summer morning, an outdoor location, by daylight. A terrace overlooking a lake and some snow-clad mountain tops.
A table laid for breakfast. Gradually, the framing widens to reveal that the terrace belongs to a pile-dwelling.
That’s why Hotel Palafitte is unique – because it’s one of the few hotels in the world that can claim to be literally on the lake.
On the Neuchâtel Lake, to be more specific, and obviously surrounded by the Alps.
Each pile is actually a spacious suite comprised of a large bedroom with an office nook, a living room space and, of course, a private terrace.
The decoration is essential, contemporary, and totally unaffected, and it draws inspiration from the shapes of the outside environment – the smooth lines of the lake and edgy corners of the mountains.
In a way, Hotel Palafitte epitomizes the Swiss virtues: a luxuriant nature, a great taste for design and a calm and peaceful attitude. Ideal for a brief escape from the rest of the world.
