The Unconventional Traveller
Long gone are the times when we resorted to travel agencies and conventional travel guides to plan a vacation.
Today, organizing a trip is a networking experience based on websites, travellers reviews, tips and word of mouth.
Fathom reflects this major cultural change – it’s a travel website written for travellers by travellers. Where’s the big idea, then?
In the high quality of the whole project, we could say – great images, a higly pleasant design, unusual destinations and a great variety of stories, written by travellers with different backrounds and interests.
Articles, stories, photo galleries and  videos sorted by theme, along with practical information, local color (coming soon), useful links and itineraries.
But the city guides are definitely our favourites. Mostly written by locals, they are an awesomely helpful tool – it’s like having somebody who lives there take you around, show you the real city and help you avoid uninteresting sights and tourist traps.
Still in its beta version, Fathom has been alive and kicking since last Spring. If you happen to have a travel adventure to share, take your chance and send it to them. They might like it and even publish it.
