A year in history
From the protesters of the Occupy Wall Street movement to the Royal Wedding, from London’s riots to the war in Lybia. In other words, a sum up of 2011 through the news that made it to the papers – each of them accurately reconstructed in 3D with Lego bricks.
Behind this brilliant idea are Flickr and British paper The Guardian, which recently published an amusing photogallery soaked in typical English wit ad humour.
And while looking at those little Lego characters playing the roles of Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Steve Jobs and other prominent personalities of our time might make you smile, this succession of meticulous representations also offers something worth reflecting on – like the way epoch-making and shocking events have been piling up in the last 12 months.
