Slowork, supporting talent
Giulia Ceragioli and Leandro Mazzocco are two Fashion Design and Urbanwear Design students at IED (European Design Institute). Thanks to Slowear’s scouting and talent support program, these young talents – respectively 19 and 20 years old – had the chance to design a couple of total looks for the brand, produced according to their specific directions.
All items – Giulia’s trousers, Tshirt and sweatshirt and Leandro’s trousers, shirt and vest –have been included in the 2012 SS collection of Slowear’s most innovative and experimental line, R.E.D.
“In a way, collaborating with IED was the most obvious choice – says Slowear’s CEO Mario Griariotto –IED has always laid stress on experimentation and advanced research, and since we’ve been promoting innovation for over 60 year (this year we are celebrating our 60th anniversary), we decided to interact with the new generations to hand down our know-how while learning something from young designers”.
With the Slowork Project, Slowear is also setting a positive for the fashion industry, by showing authentic interest for the emerging talents and offering these young designers a real opportunity.
Besides winning a prize in money, Giulia and Leandro will have their items presented at Pitti and sold in the Officina Slowear stores throughout Europe in 2012. After completing their study programs, they will also have the chance of joining Slowear’s creative team.
