Goa
In India and around the world, Goa is synonymous with fun, especially at this time of year, between Christmas and New Year, which is also the best to go in terms of climate. Great food, beautiful beaches, markets and water sports are more or less what you expect, but in Goa there are also cultural sites of primary importance, from the Basilica of Bom Jesus (UNESCO Heritage) to the tomb of St. Francis Xavier, from the temple of Mangeshi to that of Shantadurga, as well as several archaeological sites.
French Polynesia
Comparisons are often made between the Maldives and Bora Bora, because both destinations offer the possibility of staying in water bungalows. But there is a substantial difference: while the Maldives are targeted every year by over a million tourists, French Polynesia is much less crowded. If you are looking for a quiet and luxurious destination, Bora Bora could do for you. The island of Moorea offers something more in terms of walks and archaeological sites, while the pristine Tuamotu archipelago is perfect for diving and snorkeling. The climate is quite stable throughout the year, but the "beautiful season" arrives here between November and April.
