There is something stronger than beauty, which transcends the concept itself, aimed at capturing the intrinsic soul of what it immortalizes: they are art and its infinite declinations, such as photography.
And this is undoubtedly the reason why Julien Benhamou has transcended beauty, choosing dancers, musicians and movement artists in general as the main subjects of his shots.
French photographer, he began his production as assistant to two of the most important French photographers: Valerie Belin and François Rousseau. And it will be precisely in this formative period that he will discover his love for portraits and movement, in which he specializes.
The choice of dancers and more generally of artists as protagonists for his portraits is motivated by a love for shapes, for that beauty that is also enriched by personality, elegance and originality. A true poetry of the movement, which finds direct expression in inspiring portraits that are unusual and above the more traditional aesthetic standards.
"La Poésie du Mouvement" is precisely the name and fil rouge of Julien Benhamou's photographic exhibition, to be held until 7th October 2019 at the Slowear Venezia 169 Boulevard Saint-Germain , 75006, 6ème Paris.
