Quante cose di noi potrebbero svelarci i nostri vecchi orsacchiotti, se solo avessero il dono della parola. Testimoni silenziosi di un’età perduta, protagonisti di avventure vere e sognate, unico conforto nelle notti popolate di paure indefinibili… Le loro pellicce consumate, gli occhi cadenti e i nasi malconci hanno tante storie da raccontare, storie intime e spesso taciute o abbandonate anch’esse al logorio del tempo.
Ma per una volta qualcuno ha deciso di raccontarle, per parole e per immagini: è un fotografo di nome Max Nixon, che li ha raccolti e, in un certo senso, “schedati”, con tanto di foto, età, misure e biografia.
Il risultato è un libro dal titolo Much Loved in grado di commuovere anche il più arido degli ex-bambini, denso d’immagini dove questi piccoli animali imbottiti, per quanto miseri, malconci e malandati, prendono vita e dignità, osservandoci dalle pagine con un’aria al contempo accusatoria e malinconica.
Le storie raccontano di passaggi dai padri ai figli e ai nipoti, di notti trascorse fianco a fianco e di viaggi attorno al mondo intrapresi insieme. E sono tutte alquanto curiose - da quella di Bobo, l’orsetto di pezza bianco e azzurro spedito a Max dal suo proprietario dopo aver sentito del suo progetto fotografico alla radio, a quella di Teddy Moore, l’orsacchiotto di 43 anni con il muso consumato dai baci.
