Bangkok Citycity Gallery
13/3 Sathorn 1, South Sathorn Road, Thung Mahamek
Founded in 2015, in the heart of the city, by filmmaker and art collector Akapol "Op" Sudasna and former curator of Thailand Creative and Design Center, Supamas Phahulo.
Small but inspiring, it features a minimal all-white design and is spread between a 200-square-meter main exhibition hall and another small building with a bookshop.
The gallery goes beyond the boundaries of art in the strictest sense and is used to host very popular exhibitions for young audiences, often featuring movie or manga stars. The solo shows rotate approximately every two months.
BACC Bangkok Art & Cultural Center
939 Rama 1 Road
Created to showcase the artistic heart of Bangkok, it brings together modern and traditional artworks, nationally and internationally renowned artists. The distinctive cylindrical building with its spiral staircase leads to no less than nine floors, showcasing alternating works of art, video installations, games, and anything else that ignites the cultural spark. It also offers theatrical spaces, has multipurpose rooms, a public library, as well as stores where you can buy creative t-shirts, clothing, textiles, small paintings and jewelry. Don't miss the weekend art market. Very convenient, it is served directly by the Sky Train and is located right in front of Bangkok's traditional shopping mecca: the MBK Center.
