According to its creators, it will be the most ecological hotel in the world. In the meantime, thanks to very sophisticated architectural solutions, it will reduce the consumption of a normal building of the same size by 85%.
In addition, it will be completely self-sufficient from an energy point of view covering all requirements up to the recharging of mobile phones and the use of hairdryers. "Building an energy positive and low-impact hotel is an essential factor to create a sustainable tourist destination respecting the unique features of the plot; the rare plant species, the clean waters and the blue ice of the Svartisen glacier," declares Kjetil Trædal Thorsen with pride, Founding Partner at Snøhetta.
Although the hotel is still a construction site, it is already one of the must-visit destinations at least once in a lifetime. There is no alibi for people who don't like the cold either, because in summer temperatures can exceptionally reach 25 degrees, allowing you to enjoy kayaking, outdoor yoga, cycling and, of course, incomparable hiking. It is during the winter nights, however, that the glass structure of the Svart gives the strongest emotions: it is in that season in fact when the northern lights dance on the glacier.
