Slowear's history began in 1951, when in the province of Venice a small production company – Incotex – began its activity, making work trousers for some of the most important Italian companies and for military uniforms of foreign armies.
Since the 1960s, the founders' fervent entrepreneurial spirit and avant-garde vision have led the company to open up to a wider market, aimed at the end customer, and to spread the concept of "smart casual" style, for which Incotex would become a reference point, in the world of clothing.
The technical and tailoring skills and the experiments of those first 20 years of the brand's activity still represent the company's most important legacy: an invaluable wealth of experience that makes each garment of our proposal unique and original.
Also in those years, Incotex's proposal – which over time became the brand of the best trousers in the world – was expanded by the acquisition of 3 other technical product brands: Montedoro, a leader in the production of outerwear, Zanone, a high-level knitwear brand with a long tradition and special attention to the development of exclusive yarns, and Glanshirt, specialising in shirts.
In 2003, Slowear was born: a brand capable of including the four corporate brands under its umbrella and of expressing, already in the name, a philosophy applicable to both life and purchasing.
With more than 30 stores in the world's major shopping capitals – including Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Seoul – and in leading international department stores (such as Rinascente in Milan, Rome and Florence), Slowear is now recognised by buyers and connoisseurs as a brand with a unique value offering and a philosophy of style and life to be embraced.
